A possible solution to lost iPhone contacts.

Recently I announced to the world that I had lost all of my iPhone contacts. This made me sad, but I was cheered up by the three people who saw fit to give me their numbers again. I could not immediately find a solution to the issue on the web so I started twisting dials and pressing random buttons until something happened, and I believe I found a fix for whatever happened in my case. I have an Iphone 4, am running IOS 7, and do not use iCloud. What worked for me was to go into settings. Scroll down to iCloud. Turn on contacts. Go back to the phone App. Be sad because it didn't work. Wait a couple of minutes because maybe its downloading information. Resign yourself to finding another solution. Go back to Settings/ iCloud/ Contacts and switch it back off. Go to your phone App and watch the contacts slowly re-appear.

That elusive finish line

I often find, especially when working on large projects, that as the finish line approaches I run out of steam. One of the things I often do to overcome this is add more depth to the project, more layers of complexity, or more usability or applyability to the finished product. By doing this I generally shoot right past the finish line for the required bit of the project without even realizing it.

Pivot table wonkiness

I had a major problem with one of my pivot tables today and was not able to find a solution online. The issue was that not all of the data was showing up on my table. Every time I would refresh I would get different data, but not all of it. I am not sure what caused this but I found a solution. Pull the fields out of row labels, hit refresh, then drop them back in. I don't know why this worked, but it did.
