Two days in.
Second day of the new year, and first day back to work since December 21st. If I had made resolutions many of them would have ended today. I'm glad I chose the improvement slope alternative. Having that much time off from work gave my head time to clear. But that window is quickly closing. I had almost forgotten how hectic and demanding work is, and how little time there is to relax after you leave. Not to mention the frustration of leaving work with things left not completed. Taking a step back I can see how personal life can quickly take a back seat to all of the career related to do lists. In one day back to the grind I have already scrapped some plans I wanted to work on in favor of getting some extra things done for work remotely. On the bright side I have come up with a couple of ideas today that will make my job more efficient.

First day in...
It's the first day of 2013. Like many of my friends, I don't have the sense of a new beginning. The date feels a little arbitrary. I wish the calendar new year fell on the solstice. This would give it more of a new beginnings feel. I did not make a written list of resolutions, but as the year goes on I intend to keep a running to do list. My goal is to not only complete many projects this year, but also improve myself as a person. My to do list for today mostly entails household chores and prepping for work tomorrow. I wish everyone who reads this a healthy, happy, and prosperous new year.
